How to change email and mobile notification settings on Naukri?

You can change your email settings on Naukri to get more or less emails from Naukri team. To change your email notifications on Naukri:

  1. Click on My Naukri at the top right corner of the screen
  2. Click on Settings. Here go to Communication and Privacy tab
  3. Click on Customize
  4. You can control five different types of emails sent by Naukri
    1. Job Opportunities – We will recommend jobs based on your profile
    2. Communication from recruiters – Recruiters may find your profile on Naukri and contact you with a job
    3. Job Status information – We inform you when you application is viewed or shortlisted
    4. Profile related alerts – Will inform you how your profile is performing on Naukri
    5. Promotions – Emails sent by Naukri partner websites

How can I stop getting emails from Naukri?

If you have found a job and you do not want to receive daily emails from Naukri.com, there are two options for you –

Opt for weekly emails

  1. Click on My Naukri at the top right corner of the screen
  2. Click on Settings. Here go to Communication and Privacy tab
  3. Select Not actively looking but open for opportunities
  4. This would ensure that you do not get any emails from recruiters and you would get only one job recommendation mail per week

Opt for no emails

  1. Click on My Naukri at the top right corner of the screen
  2. Click on Settings. Here go to Communication and Privacy tab
  3. Select Customize
  4. Create custom email alert settings. For e.g. You can decide to opt out of recruiter emails but opt in for applied job updates
  5. If you wish to get no emails at all, select “No Email” for all the categories of emails. This will ensure that you do not get any emails from Naukri, but you can still come to Naukri to search and apply to jobs

How can I make my profile invisible to recruiters on Naukri?

You can make your profile invisible to recruiters on Naukri. This would ensure that your job search is completely confidential. Recruiters will not be able to find your profile on the Naukri database and they will not send you emails about job openings either. However, you can still search and apply to jobs on Naukri.

To make your profile invisible to recruiters:

  1. Click on My Naukri at the top right corner of the screen
  2. Click on Settings. Here go to Communication and Privacy tab
  3. Select Customize
  4. Create custom email alert settings. Under “Communication from Recruiters”, select “No Email” to make your job search confidential

How can I deactivate my Naukri account?

In case you are not looking for a job right now, you can deactivate your Naukri account. This will stop all emails from Naukri. We will reactivate your account only when you login again on Naukri.com.

To deactivate your Naukri account, go to ‘Communication and Privacy’ in the ‘Settings’ page. Here, select ‘Not looking for job right now’ and select ‘Deactivate till next login”.

How can I delete my Naukri account?

Note that once you delete your Naukri account, you cannot get your Naukri profile back. For security reasons, you also may not be able to create a new account with the email used by you earlier.

Job Search is not a one-time activity. Your Naukri profile might be useful when you search for a new job in the future, hence we don’t recommend users to delete their profiles.

  1. If you wish to delete your account because you already got a job, you can deactivate your account instead. Deactivating it would put your account in sleep mode with no notifications until the next time you login on Naukri.
  2. If you want to delete your account because you are not getting relevant job recommendations, try creating a Custom Job Alert. Read more about custom job alert here
  3. If you want to delete your account because you want to stop emails from Naukri, try changing your communication settings to stop all emails and mobile notifications. You can still search and apply to jobs but you not receive any emails from Naukri. Learn how to stop all emails from Naukri here.

If you still wish to delete your account, you can do so by going to ‘Communication and Privacy’ in the ‘Settings’ page. Here, select ‘Not looking for job right now’ and select ‘Delete account’. You have to confirm with your password while deleting the account. Note that it may take upto 24 hours to remove your profile from the Naukri database and it may take upto 7 days for the emails to stop

I deleted my Naukri account. Can I get it back?

No. Once you have deleted your account, you cannot restore it. You also cannot create another account with the same email id as your deleted account. If you do not wish to lose your account permanently, you can deactivate it until your next login.

In case you have deleted your account already and you wish to return to Naukri, you can create a new account with an email id different from your deleted account.

How can I change the password to my account?

To change your password:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click on ‘Settings’ in the ‘My Naukri’ tab on the right top corner of the page. Here, go to ‘Account Settings’ to change your account password, and click on ‘Change Password’.
  3. Now you can enter your old password and the new password for your account. Your password will get changed

On Android and Mobile Web Browser
To reset your password:

  1. Tap the hamburger icon at the top left corner of the screen. Tap Login
  2. Tap Forgot Password? On the login page
  3. Enter your registered email address or username. Tap SET NEW PASSWORD
  4. An OTP will be sent to the registered email address
  5. Enter this OTP and enter a new password. Tap CHANGE PASSWORD. Your password will be changed and you can login with the new password
How can I update the email id and phone number on my Naukri account?

Follow these steps to update your email id:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Go to ‘Settings’ page in the ‘My Naukri’ tab in the top right corner of the page. Here, go to ‘Account Settings’ and click on ‘Change Email’. Add the new email address that would like to have for your account
  3. For security purposes, we need you to verify the new email id. So, click on the ‘Verify’ link next to the new email id. Click on ‘Request Verification Link’ in the popup. Now, you will receive an email from Naukri with a verification link in your inbox. Clicking on this link would verify the new email id.
  4. Make this secondary email as your primary email id by clicking on “Make this my primary email”

Now, you can login to your account using the new email id. You will also begin to receive communication emails from Naukri including job alerts on the new email address.

Follow these steps to update your phone number:

  1. Click on pencil icon in front of the phone number you had earlier specified. After entering a new one, click on ‘save’. Your profile will now reflect your new phone number.
  2. Verify this new number to receive calls from recruiters.

Login to change email or phone number

I do not want my current employer to have access to my profile. How can I block a recruiter?

You have an option to select companies to whom you do not wish to reveal your resume. Once you have logged in to your account, click on ‘Settings’ in ‘My Profile’ tab visible at the top right corner of the page. On mobile, you can find this in the side menu bar. Click on the ‘Blocked Companies’ section. Here, you can search and select the company that you want to block. It may be your current employer or any other company. If you cannot find the company name in the list, search for variants. For example, ABC Private Limited & ABC Pvt. Ltd are variants of the same company name.

Recruiters from the companies selected will not be able to view your profile. We will try our best to conceal you profile from these companies but we cannot guarantee this.
