Our History:
Hutchison Global Services has had a long and varied history. Born in 2003, it was created to service customers for the then fledgling brand '3' in the UK and Australia. With a small, gung-ho team of trained telecom professionals working out of only 1 facility, the enterprise soon grew to be the silent support behind the brand. In 2007, our Pune centre was launched to service the ever-growing numbers of Three customers. And in 2010, we're happy to report that we're servicing 5 million customers in the UK. Now let's move 16,500 kms. across the world to Australia for another part of our HGS story.
In 2009, Three Australia (a subsidiary of the Hutchison Group) merged with Vodafone Australia, to form the entity Vodafone Hutchison Australia who would market the brand Vodafone in Australia. In recognition of HGS's world-class quality, our customer service centre was chosen as the contact centre for the Vodafone business.
Today we're expanding to service the ever increasing base of customers across 3 countries and 2 brands. HGS now has a base of 12,000 employees operating out of 5 facilities in 2 major cities of India, Mumbai and Pune who take an average of 1,35,629 calls per day. Now that's a good call!
Effective from 4th September, HGS is now a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra ( a leading provider of solutions and services to the telecomunications industry).
