About Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press (a global publishing company based in the UK) has recently set up an India Operations Centre (IOC) at Tech Mahindra's facility in Hyderabad. The staff based in the IOC work as integrated members of global teams that develop and publish (in both print and digital formats), a wide variety of English Language Teaching (ELT) materials, as well as Education materials and Academic books and journals. A wide range of roles (spanning Editorial, Production, Marketing and Supply Chain Fulfillment) are being created and we are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced team members from publishing as well as non-publishing backgrounds.

DETAILS FOR OPEN POSITIONS
Job Location : Hyderabad
Qualification : Relevant University Degree, preferably in Publishing or English

ROLE EXPERIENCE JOB DESCRIPTION
Production Editors 2-4 yrs
  • Candidates with experience in copy editing shall be preferred
  • At least one year of teaching English shall be an added advantage
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office and online PDF proofing
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
  • Knowledge of English Language Teaching published materials
Graphic Designer 2-5 yrs
  • Strong working knowledge of InDesign while working on Books
  • Confident using Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Use creative initiative to ensure manuscript and visual asset content works well on the page spreads
  • Working knowledge of XML workflow
  • Reformatting of audio and video file would be an added advantage.
XML Programmer 1-3 yrs
  • Gook working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, ePub with DTD/Schema as optional.
  • Good working knowledge on MS-Excel will be an advantage.
Lead Digital Products 4-6 yrs
  • Minimum 3 years of team handling experience
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Good decision making and time management skills
  • Gook working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, ePub with DTD/Schema as optional.
  • Retrieving assets from digital systems such as CAMS
  • Manuscript evaluation against digital templates
  • Checking assets for format compliance
  • Updating project schedules as part of global project teams
  • Reporting on and logging issues using JIRA
Manufacturing Controller 2-4 yrs
  • Procurement and SAP experience desirable.
  • Understanding of the Printing/Publishing industry desirable.
  • Familiarity and confidence with MS Office suite.
  • Good exposure needed in Print Manufacturing
