Job Description

Our client, Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is a statutory corporate entity that was established in 2012 to manage and develop Fiji's network of roads and infrastructure. FRA has made significant progress in managing multiple and large scale projects and infrastructure budgets. The success of the FRA model has resulted in significantly greater investment in the road and jetty infrastructure network than was originally anticipated. The Fiji Roads Authority is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced professional to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who can lead and drive the organisation and make a real contribution to its continued progress and success. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic and commercial leadership to the organisation and is mandated to ensure that the vision and strategic priorities of the organisation are achieved. The CEO will also play a key role in shaping the organisational culture and will be accountable for building and strengthening partnerships with all relevant stakeholder groups. Other key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving the implementation of the organisation's business model to ensure that key business targets and objectives are met
  • Ensuring the effective management of the organisation including business planning, financial management, operations, human resource management, policy and governance functions
  • Providing advice and recommendations to the Board of Directors on strategy, governance and financial management
  • Leading the goals and objectives in relation to budgets, capital works programmes road infrastructure and asset management plans
  • Ensuring a high level of prudential rigour, risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements.



Qualification & Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with proven experience in a senior executive management role
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills with a focus on securing strategic partnerships, business planning, people and financial management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills to build strong relationships, foster stakeholder engagement, create new partnerships and drive a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Strong business skills and commercial acumen with the capability to drive efficiency including achieving results and targets.
